• What is Counselling / Psychotherapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy are often interchangeable terms, to describe a type of talking therapy. Therapy can be used to work towards goals, help improve mental health, better understand ourselves and our experiences and gives us the opportunity to be understood in a non judgemental environment.

In our sessions, I won’t give you advice, but I can offer a space which is confidential for you to share your experiences, and we can work through them together, to better understand your self, or your hopes for the future.

  • Session Structure

Sessions will be 50 minutes long, and we will usually meet on a weekly basis, although this can vary. This time can be used to talk about whatever you wish, there is no expectation of you. In our first session, we will discuss any hopes for therapy, or how you might like to feel in the future. I have experience working with both short term and long term clients, and in our first session we will discuss what might feel right for you at the moment. I work flexibly and this can evolve throughout our time together.

  • Working Online

Our therapy sessions will be held online, via Zoom. You can download the Zoom application for desktop or smartphone for free. Each week, you will be sent a joining link, meeting ID and password. If you prefer, we are able to have sessions via telephone. It is important that you have a private space to join the session, in which you won’t be interrupted or overheard by others.
